So I saw Atonement today.
And I have never had such a large range of emotions regarding a movie before.
( why -- spoilers )
And that's all I have to say about that.

I leave for France in just about two weeks. It's really crept up on me...
I'm getting really excited now :)
And that's about all I have to update. I love not being in school when everyone else is. Classes not starting till Feb? Sounds good to me.

I haven't updated this in nearly 7 months. Funny how I used to be so bewildered that people could do that.
This semester was crazy; marching band took over my life. I'm still a French major. I'm going to study abroad next semester and I'm really excited.
I'm really looking forward to Christmas, my favorite time of year.
I've learned a lot about myself in these past few months. I've made a lot of new friends. My boyfriend and I made it to our one-year anniversary on long-distance.
Tell me how you all are doing, please!

So I am sitting in my dorm doing some spanish homework while it is pouring rain outside and I decide to listen to some salsa music.
I turn on the radio and all of a sudden I realize that in the middle of one song: "Dude... I must be getting really good at Spanish because I understand everything they're saying!"
And then I realized that the guy was actually singing in French. FRENCH. Who sings French in a Salsa song?
That was a dirty trick.

I actually updated a fanfiction. A fanfiction. I haven't written/updated fanfic in two years. I guess I just really wanted closure. It is by no means a good ending, seeing as I wrote it without any plan whatsoever but... at least this story has a finale now. lol. I'm not sure any of you read this one, it's the Inuyasha/Sango story that I wrote under a different account.
I felt like such a deviant back then, haha. Funny how life changes.

I ate a quarter of a tub of Pillsbury chocolate fudge frosting today with a spoon.
This was beyond brilliant in so many ways. My roommate was laughing at me as she was getting dressed to go to the gym.
I also got four parking tickets in the span of a week, because I am loathe to move my car in fear of losing my parking space. The Red lot was definitely changed to Red 1 in the past week. Without telling anyone, I might add. I think it was the same cop too. Go figure. But! Tomorrow I will appeal these atrocities.

I love how when you miss the bus and start walking, only two minutes later: not one, not two, but THREE buses pass your way.
It's almost as if the engine grinds to the rhythm of "ha ha ha."

Any grammar mistakes? I'm pretty sure I'm going abroad next spring and I want to start getting ready now. My brain is going to expload from conjugating things three different ways, but hey.

New layout. Pretty.
The weird thing about my floor is that the east side and the west side don't congregate. It's like the water fountain is a barrier or something.
Or maybe it's because the bathrooms are opposite on different sides of the hall. It's weird to walk into a bathroom where everything is backwards.
Lol. Kidding.
But it's the truth. I know the west side, but I don't know anyone on the other side of the hall.
West side walk it out.

Everyone needs to read Michael Crichton's new book Next. I think it's one of the best he's written. It's about biogenetics and the patenting of genes and trasgenic species... It's really well written. Go to the nearest bookstore. Now.
And I don't like Josh Groban's new CD as much as I did Closer.
I haven't been writing as much lately. It's cold outside. For Florida.
I think I'm going to go outside and try to write.

So 5 A's and 1 B+ this semester.
Not bad at all.
Merry Christmas Eve! :)

The "Big Lights" have once agained returned to the neighborhood.
The people down the street go crazy with christmas lights every year -- their entire house is covered, I kid you not. It is one of the prettiest sights you will ever see, but seriously.
Their kids must seriously not get any christmas presents; their electric bill must fit in an envelope the size of Europe.
I finished half of my christmas shopping yesterday with Nadia. Chyeah.

Lovely. My bed is sitting in a puddle -- like one of those huts on stlits.
Fa la la la la la la la la.

I'm home for a few days because my spanish exam isn't till next wednesday and I'm already finished with everything else.
Sometimes it's really nice living only an hour and a half from home.
Opening my fridge this morning was a celebration. "Real food! And... lots of it!"
I don't gain weight when I'm at college; I gain weight when I come home.
I had the most bizarre dream last night, one of those realistic ones that you strangely remember when you wake up. It could actually -- possibly -- be transformed into a story.
It could work.

Had two oral exams today -- one for Spanish and one for French. By a fluke, only an hour apart.
I had about five minutes of panic before spanish because I got to the room and saw my partner Chad with his green scoring sheet... and realized I'd forgotten mine at my dorm.
And Profesora explicitly said she couldn't even grade us without one.
So my heart stopped beating for a few minutes, but Chad gave me his sheet and his copy machine card and I sprinted over to the library to make a copy.
Otherwise, it went fine. We both spoke reasonably well. Only made a few mistakes. Tried to say "earrings" in French, but hey.
Conversely, my french oral was only five minutes long because my professor lost track of time with the person before me (they talked for something like half an hour) and basically asked me about my hertiage, told me I should go to Italy to find my distant cousins, and said to keep studying french.
Works for me.

Thanksgiving was so great. It was nice to be home again after being away for so long.
Me: This house is so big!
Dad: well, since you live in Harry Potter's broom closet...
lol. My dorm really isn't that bad.
It was awesome seeing my friends again. Or the one's I've kept in touch with at least. It's weird, after graduation, seeing who you stay friends with. I'm actually closer to one of my friends who's up in Virginia right now than some who are at the same university as me. Well. That's life.
But yeah. Only 3 weeks until I'm back home for christmas vacation. UF basketball team lost to Kansas this weekend. :'-( I nearly cried. We beat FSU(CKS) at football though. Hah.

I really don't understand how people will talk on their cell phones IN THE BATHROOM. That just slightly creeps me out.
If anyone ever tries to call me while you are in the bathroom, I will hang up on you.
That is a promise.
